"Seven Cs (7Cs) of communication are actually the principles explained to effectively communicate so that the targeted group may understand the intended purpose. These principles offer guidelines for individuals to learn how effectively can influence people with own or organizational agendas. These are completeness, conciseness, consideration, concreteness, clarity, courtesy and correctness."

Communication is one of the biggest things team members and leaders have told us we need to improve and sustain. As such, we have been challenged to improve in this area and continue to look for ways that clear communication can be done. Additionally, we needed a way to ensure that what was communicated was actually heard and confirmed. As you know, apps and texts are a poor substitute for validation of communication. It is passive and not everyone is active.
So, to start improving in this area, in 2022 we took a small step forward with our “Team of Groups” concept. See groups below. We divided the team in to smaller groups. Each director/manager has a team leader or two and a small cross-functional group assigned. Each week huddle topics or important announcements are communicated in person or via a voice phone call (No app messages/Text messages/etc.) to each member of their small group. Then each director/manager back-briefs Nick within 48 hours with any issues or questions asked from the group.
There is a standard format for the message and it is posted in #announcements on Slack just for clarity, completeness and concreteness. Furthermore, the calendar below keeps track of the huddle topics for historical reference.
